‘Hi, my name is Sarah, and I’m the Club Secretary. I do not paddle myself but have been part of the club for many years supporting my sons. My main role within the club is to ensure the smooth running of communication, as well as supporting the Chair of the club. I’m the first point of contact for many people. I am always available, to chat and offer any assistance required.

Rachel Buckler

‘Hi, I’m Rachel, mum to two paddlers Charlie and Fletcher. My boys joined the club in 2013 and have been hooked on paddling ever since. I work full time in the finance industry. Whilst I don’t paddle you’ll see me around the club helping out with the time keeping for time trials/hare and hounds. I manage the Accounts for the club in the background and assist the committee in ensuring it meets its financial obligations.

I have been a member since the Club started in 1989 and Head Coach for as long as I can remember. My key role is managing the Coaching team as well as promoting and developing the coaching and racing activities of the Club members.

I am responsible for acting as a source of advice about safeguarding and protecting children, promoting good practice, and coordinating action within the Club. I am always available to address any concerns or offer any assistance required.’

I’m Jane Perry and my daughter Beth is one of the junior members of the club. She’s been a member for more than 3 years now and Like many of the juniors, seems to live her life to kayak! Southampton Canoe Club is a charity with a fantastic group of volunteer committee members and coaches. My role is to try to source additional charitable income for the club, generally through grants, donations, or similar funding opportunities

I continue to enjoy being part of both the ‘back room’ volunteer staff who keep the Club’ ticking over ’ but I am also a keen Coach in making the experience of being at the Club an enjoyable experience for all participants. I also manage the Membership system – so if you have any queries – please speak to me directly.
