southampton race results

Southampton Hasler

Another glorious sunny day for a Hasler and while on home turf we secured the full ten points with a recorded 238 points on the day which is two points short of the maximum 240 which is probably a club record.

On the day all the hard work came together for an amazing day and it was appreciated by our visitors.

“Thanks for organising the race today: it was excellent.”

Brian Gandy

We now sit safe for Hasler qualification, reasonable effort on the last two races of the season will see us looking to book our place at the finals in Worcester on 10th October.

We look forward to seeing as many as possible at the meeting.

Marathon Racing Committee

Congratulations

Congratulations to all the competitors at today’s Basingstoke Canal Canoe Club Hasler race.
Twenty-eight paddlers and their entourage made the journey up to BCCC for the first Southern Region Hasler race of the year (fourth of the season).
It was an impressive day with a host of prizes and promotions.
With so many worthy of mention I would like to point out a few who stood out for me.
New paddlers like Jack and Matthew winning medals.
Experienced paddlers in Woodmill vests winning Mugs.
Brother and Sister Hewitts winning prizes.
Steve Ceasar cruising from Div 9 to Div 6.
Blair hobbling to his K1 on crutches to paddle in club colours.
A fine start to 2010

Look forward to seeing you at Reading Circuit 30th May 2010.
Full report to follow.
Cheers
Joe.
